Our main goal for opening Canine Connection Training Centre Inc. is to offer a dog training facility in Calgary focused on prioritizing relationship-building between dogs and their owners. Through science-based positive reinforcement techniques and game-based methods, we aim to motivate dogs to willingly engage in training.
We recognize that every dog-owner pair is unique and our center offers personalized training programs. We understand that training is not one-size-fits-all and we work closely with clients to understand their goals and learning styles.
Connection, commitment, and consistency are the cornerstones of effective dog training at Canine Connection Training Centre Inc. We believe that when these elements are present, dog training becomes enjoyable and successful for both dogs and owners.

I started volunteering at rescue agencies in 2007. I had always loved dogs and thought I wanted to be a veterinarian growing up. I found dog training to be much more fun and have been doing so since!
My goal is to teach clients how to communicate and connect with their dog to build a strong relationship that makes training fun for everyone involved. Educating clients on dog behaviours and science-based facts while also advocating responsible pet ownership is very important to me.
I have been performing since 2018 and have performed with The Canine Stars and The SuperDogs. I also had the privilege to be part of the Canine Stars during the quarter finals of America’s Got Talent in 2021 where we performed live in Hollywood.
Our true joy is dog sports and we love agility, dock diving, disc and nose work and lots of hiking!

I started working with shelter dogs in 2003, where I would foster, train, and assist with behavior evaluations to match the dogs with the right families. I started teaching obedience classes in 2008. I love making my classes fun by playing lots of reward-based games and by encouraging my clients to cheer each other on during class. My goal is to teach humans how to speak dog, because once you can communicate effectively with your dog, training becomes easy!
I rescued Major, a German Shepherd from that shelter and we spent 13 wonderful years together, he was my demo dog for hundreds of classes in Calgary. He taught me as much as I taught him. To honor his life, he is one of the dogs on Canine Connection’s logo.
Today I live in Carstairs, I’m a new mom to my beautiful daughter, and I live with my amazing husband, 2 senior rescue dogs, Holly and Pugsley, and a cat, Loki. When I’m not working, I enjoy painting, hiking, and spending time with my family.
C-WAGS (Canine Work and Games) Scent Detection Judge ·
Multiple championships, master and grand championship achievements.
Growing up in the conformation and obedience world, I knew no different life then being surrounded by dogs of all shapes and sizes. I became a junior handler at the age of 8 years old, learning off of some outstanding handlers and breeders of all breeds.
In my early teen years, I achieved my major break of my first conformation championship with the Canadian Kennel Club! My American Cocker Spaniel named Trixie by my side, I have never forgotten the feeling of that day! From there, I took a break from the show world and entered into canine therapy where we would enter into senior homes to bring some cheer for those who needed it the most. It was there that I saw how incredible dogs really are. It bought me so much joy to see those smiles and the tails wagging!
It wasn’t long before I returned back to the dog sporting world. I then went onto achieving many championships, master & grand championships in various dog sports! I have been very fortunate to achieve these moments with a variety of breeds as well as rescue dogs!
Each success, is always an honour to be on the end of the leash. Although I have enjoyed many dog sports, Scent Detection remains my favourite. I became a C-WAGS (Canine Work And Games) Scent Detection Judge shortly after achieving a Master Championship with my current dog, Rookie. I am also an apprentice Judge for SDDA (Sporting Dog Detection Association). From here, I hope to travel Canada judging new and experienced teams chase their goals with the sport! Nothing brings me more joy, then seeing a team achieve a goal that they worked incredibly hard for!

It wasn’t until I got my first rescue dog, Caliber, in 2003 that I realized my passion for dog training. A 9-month-old husky/shepherd cross, Caliber offered many training challenges and I found joy in learning with him. Caliber passed at the young age of 18 months but he taught me so much about the basics of dog training. After Caliber came Jenna, who presented with her own obstacles as she was quite reactive on leash. This is when I found my real passion - working with dogs with reactivity, aggression and anxiety. I began apprenticing with a training mentor in 2007.
Due to my many hours of work with behavioural cases, I have achieved my certification as a Behaviour Consultant with the CCPDT. Not only do I enjoy the challenges of behaviour cases, but love to watch the light come into a dog’s eyes as they catch on to our training. I work to keep my classes engaging and fun with games and challenges as well as ample opportunity to ask questions and practice skills. I enjoy keeping up to date and expanding my knowledge by attending conferences and reading training books.
When not dog training I enjoy walking around Calgary with my present dog, a 5-year-old mixed breed named Oona as well as reading fantasy novels. I love spending my time with my daughter and husband as well as Oona and our four rescue cats.
